The French Gimlet
A sophisticated take on the classic gimlet! Three ingredients combine for a refreshing and chic cocktail.
A French gimlet is a gin gimlet made with elderflower liqueur. The gimlet is a classic cocktail made of 2 parts gin and 1 part lime juice, often balanced with a little simple syrup. A true 1920s cocktail, it can be made with gin or vodka. Add a bit of elderflower liqueur to make it French, and ditch the simple syrup.
INGREDIENTS
2 oz gin
1 ½ oz St Germain elderflower liqueur
½ oz lime juice
For the garnish: lime wedge
tools + glassware
Shaker
Strainer
Chilled coupe or Nick & Nora
Preparation
Add gin, lime juice, and St. Germain to a cocktail shaker.
Fill with a handful of ice and shake until cold.
Double strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
