An equal parts cocktail - pear, lemon, and honey complement a split base of tequila and mezcal.
For a late-summer refreshment, shake up this simple equal-parts cocktail. Ben Siegel, bartender at Aspen’s Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar, compares it to an autumn pear cobbler. The optional edible silver flakes garnish are a nod to Aspen’s mining history.
INGREDIENTS
¾ oz. Mezcal
¾ oz. Reposado tequila
¾ oz. St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur
¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz. Honey syrup
Garnish: pear slices (optional edible silver flakes
TOOLS + GLASSWARE
Shaker
Strainer
Rocks glass with BFC
PREPARATION
Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake to chill, then strain over crushed ice in a glass. Garnish.
TIP: For a little heat, add a thumbnail-size slice of habanero to the shaker and muddle it before adding the other ingredients and shaking.
